What is company verification in 9ID?
Company verification validates the legal entity itself — not only the people who badge in. 9ID checks company requirements against your rules (registries, screening, certificates, acknowledgements). People verification stays separate: ID, personal certificates, inductions. Both can be required. If the company fails, its workers cannot check in — including every company tier in a subcontractor chain you configure.
How is company verification different from contractor management?
Contractor management covers the full arrival workflow for people: onboarding, inductions, gate clearance, and day-to-day site access. Company verification focuses on the organization behind those people — company status, documents, and registry checks. On industrial sites the two work together: the company must pass, and each worker must pass.
What checks does 9ID run on companies?
Depth is configurable. Lighter checks cover policy and EHS acknowledgements, insurance uploads, and onboarding forms. Standard checks add VAT database validation and screening. Deeper checks can include VCA, ISO, UBO, credit, social or fiscal debt, and sector certificates such as GMP, GDP, or TAPA — matched to the risk of the work and the zone.
Can companies manage their own documents?
Yes. Company admins use a self-service portal to upload documents, complete acknowledgements, and renew certificates before they expire. Your team reviews exceptions and flagged cases — not every submission from every company.
What happens when a company's certificate expires or a check fails?
Company status moves out of accepted and workers linked to that company cannot check in. The issue is surfaced before travel when possible — expired certificates, failed checks, or a block — so the gate is not where you first discover the problem.
